Golden Quotes for Colleagues

All my colleagues know that I have a habit of sharing my favorite golden quotes with everyone. Why do I do this? First, I personally love reading golden quotes. Sometimes, a simple sentence serves as self-reflection or even a form of caution and alertness. Second, I believe this way of communicating and encouraging others acts as a form of corporate training. In fact, various training programs ultimately boil down to the same old mindset. I divide my golden quotes into two main categories: one for our sales colleagues, and the other for our back-office team. Having worked in sales and served in management, I understand that the nature of these two roles is different, and the directions they need to think in are completely distinct.

Every day, I carefully select golden quotes to send to our team chat groups. To be honest, I do not know how many colleagues actually read them carefully or are moved by them, but I feel this is my duty as a leader. Even if only a tiny fraction of people pay attention, I hope to help them build a proactive and positive mindset. That is why I take it very seriously—using AI to design them and adding the FMI logo. If they choose not to read them, it is their loss, as they will miss out on many opportunities to be inspired. To me, inspiration is everywhere in daily life; it all depends on whether you have the ability to transform it into wisdom. For example, when watching movies or TV dramas, some people walk away with nothing, but when I see an inspiring, feel-good show, I watch it over and over again, gaining new insights each time. I love discovering role models to learn from, and at the same time, I hope to share my own experiences with my colleagues to inspire them to find their own goals.

This communication method has become a habit. Beyond my colleagues, I send at least two or three WhatsApp messages every week to friendly clients—sometimes forwarding an article, sometimes just sending a morning greeting or a warm check-in. The goal is to maintain visibility because "out of sight, out of mind." By constantly appearing in front of clients, I let them know about the latest updates from me and the company, such as FMI recently participating in travel expos, launching travel packages, and offering member discounts. Even if clients might not need these services right away, it helps deepen their impression of our company. For instance, last week I forwarded an article to a regular client, and during our casual chat, I found out they were currently in Japan and interested in our new property projects, which spontaneously led to scheduling a property viewing.

Small habits, accumulated over time, can bring about massive changes. Over the past twenty years, I have met many friends, clients, and partners across Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan, and our network has been built step-by-step through close communication. Earlier, while at a gym in Singapore, an Indonesian client proactively came over to introduce himself. He said he frequently watches my short videos on YouTube and feels that my words are down-to-earth and authentic, which led to him previously contacting us to purchase a unit at The Peak Tsutenkaku Grand. Although I sometimes complain that making videos is hard work, we persist, and the results gradually begin to show.

The hardest part is always getting started; cultivating a new habit is never easy. But once you feel that a habit benefits you, you naturally want to keep doing it. For example, I have persevered with gym workouts for two or three years. It was very painful at the beginning, but I did not give up. Now, whenever I travel for business or leisure, I go out of my way to find a gym. Recently, someone asked me how to teach children sentence-building. I suggested having children simply note down one small daily event every day and practice repeatedly. Some people are too impatient, demanding that children write ten or a hundred sentences a day, but the children find it too difficult and become unwilling to write. You have to adopt the right approach to build good habits. When children see their own progress, they will put their hearts into it, because deep down, everyone desires to pursue a better version of themselves.

I have made it a daily habit to send messages to my colleagues, sharing various golden quotes and wisdom.
